A Foreign Ministry official has said the economic agreement made during the summit will promote political mutual trust. The leaders also reached a consensus on promoting cooperation and strengthening communication.

Luo Zhaohui, Director-General of Asian Affairs Dept., Chinese Foreign Ministry, said, "Overall, the leaders have reached a clear consensus in the summit. They agreed to overcome differences, strengthen communication, and to deepen cooperation in political, economic and cultural fields. Without political mutual trust, economic cooperation can not be promoted. Thus, economic cooperation itself, in a sense, is a way to promote political trust. I’m very optimistic about this. And to promote political trust, the leaders from the three sides agreed, they will take care of some issues, so that these issues won’t disturb the overall political ties. "
