Good news coming from the 2012 Diamond League meeting in Shanghai. Chinese athlete Liu Xiang has won a new championship.

Despite the heavy rain, Liu Xiang ranked first in men's 110-metre hurdle race clocking 12.97 seconds. That's his best achievement so far this year. Liu is one of China's most successful athletes and a cultural icon.

He is the first Chinese athlete to achieve the "triple crown" of athletics: World Record Holder, World Champion and Olympic Champion.
