APEC ministerial meeting kicks off in Kazan, Russia

21 trade ministers from APEC member economies have gathered in Kazan, Russia for a 2-day APEC Ministerial meeting.

This year’s top priorities include: trade and investment liberalization, regional economic integration, strengthening food security, and establishing reliable supply chains. Ministers will also exchange views on the prospects of the Doha Development Agenda negotiations in the World Trade Organization.

WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy will brief ministers on the state of play of the DDA negotiations. 2012 APEC Leaders’ Informal Meeting is set to be held in Russia’s Eastern city of Vladivostok in September.
