Pakistan has successfully test fired a nuclear capable cruise missile with a range of 700 kilometres.

The missile, Babur, is named after the first Mughal Emperor. It is described as a low-flying, terrain-hugging missile with high manoeuvrability, pin-point accuracy and radar avoidance features.

It can carry both nuclear and conventional warheads and has stealth capabilities. It is the fifth such test by Pakistan in more than a month. It’s also its third test in two weeks since its rival India tested a missile capable of delivering nuclear warheads as far as Beijing and Eastern Europe.

Both Pakistan and India conduct missile tests regularly and inform each other in advance.
