The Chinese Consul General in Lagos says the remains of a Chinese national have been identified from a Nigerian plane crash. A total of 6 Chinese passengers were believed to be onboard the ill-fated flight when it crashed Sunday.

Emergency workers have found the remains of 157 bodies, but have found it difficult to identify all the victims. Federal and state authorities have discussed using DNA testing to identify the bodies.

The MD-83 plane, operated by Dana Air, went down about nine kilometers short of its intended destination. Nigeria's Civil Aviation Authority says it will indefinitely suspend the license of the air carrier and start an investigation into its safety record.

Security officials stand at the site of a plane crash at Iju-Ishaga neighbourhood
