Spokesman for Chinese Foreign Ministry, Liu Weimin, has urged the international community to fully support Annan's efforts in ending the violence in Syria.

Liu Weimin, spokesman of China's Foreign Ministry, said, "China keeps an open attitude toward the idea of calling an international conference on the Syria issue and creating a "contact group." China maintains that the international community should stick to the political course and give full support to the special envoy's mediation efforts so as to carry out related UN Security Council resolutions and Annan’s six-point proposal. China is willing to continue working with the special envoy and relevant parties to seek a proper settlement of the Syria issue."
