Chinese President Hu Jintao has held talks with Danish Queen, Margrethe the second, following his arrival in Copenhagen for a three-day state visit. It’s the first visit to the Nordic country by a Chinese head of state since the two countries established diplomatic ties 62 years ago. Hu says the two sides will work together to raise bilateral ties to a new level.

Danish Queen Margrethe II and members of the royal family greeted President Hu at Kastrup International Airport.

President Hu noted that the frequent exchanges between China and Denmark had led to robust growth in trade and cooperation in many areas since the establishment of their strategic partnership in 2008.

The Danish Prime Minister called Hu’s trip an "historic visit". After the welcoming ceremony, the Chinese President held talks with Queen Margrethe.
