The Shenzhou-9 capsule, carrying three astronauts, has landed safely in north China's Inner Mongolia. The news has drawn wide attention from several major British media outlets.
Sky News broadcasted Shenzhou-9's return to earth, saying the great step in China's space-technology development has strengthened its position among the world powers. It also commented that the successful manned docking of the Tiangong-1 and Shenzhou-9 was another significant breakthrough for China's space docking technology.
Several foreign media outlets also commented on the return as marking a milestone in China's efforts to run a full space station in 2020. BBC launched a series of reports on Shenzhou-9's space mission, while the Financial Times and the Daily Mail had special focuses on China's first female astronaut Liu Yang.
