China's deep-sea manned submersible Jiaolong has completed its 6th and last dive in the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean. This time, submersible reached 7,035 meters below sea level.

The crew’s main task was to inspect and check the submersible on the basis of the results obtained from the first 5 test dives. This dive also tested the submersible’s security.

Jiaolong will now be used for surveying and research. The submersible set a new national dive record when it reached a depth of 7,062 meters below sea level during its fifth dive into the Mariana Trench.
