Monsoon rains have led to floods and landslides in different parts of India, causing severe destruction.

Heavy downpours unleashed landslides in India’s West Bengal, blocking a crucial route connecting northeastern states. Though no casualties or destruction of property was reported in West Bengal, in the northern state of U-ttara-khand incessant rains caused boulders to descend from a hill and crush several shops and cars.

While the arrival of the annual rains cheered farmers in several parts of India, in regions like the northeastern state of Ass-am, they resulted in massive floods ravaging homes and displacing millions.
