To the latest on the rescue at the coal mine in Leiyang city in central China’s Hunan province. 8 miners have been pulled to safety after being trapped in the flooded coal mine. Two miners have been found dead, while the other 6 have yet to be found.

The missing six are trapped in two separate tunnels. Rescue work is continuing. But the situation inside these two pits is very complicated. Sticky mud and narrow space make it difficult for the rescuers to move forward. The flood in the coal mine occurred on Wednesday when 40 miners were working underground, and two dozen escaped.
