Cambodian PM greets ministers ahead of ASEAN meeting

Cambodian Prime Minister, Hun Sen, has welcomed ASEAN foreign ministers and dialogue partners ahead of an annual security forum in Phnom Penh.

Foreign ministers and deputies from ASEAN’s dialogue partners including China, South Korea, Japan, the US, Russia, Australia, New Zealand and India will also take part in the discussions which will cover regional security, trade and co-operation.

Topping the agenda is a code of conduct for the South China Sea, where territorial disputes have flared between China, the Philippines and Vietnam. The sea is a vital sea lane for global trade and is believed to have vast energy reserves.
