1st Southeast Asia Strategic Review Forum opens in Jakarta, Indonesia

The first Southeast Asia Strategic Review Forum has opened in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia.

The forum is themed "Peace and Reconciliation in Southeast Asia". Politicians from several countries in Asia have joined in the forum, including Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. In his address, Susilo stressed that regional stability is preserved through peace and reconciliation.

He also added that although regional conflicts exist within ASEAN, the countries remain united. ASEAN is aiming for greater integration in government, economy and culture through 2015.
