Nearly 90 people have been killed in a series of roadside bombs and shootings in Iraq.

The attacks took place on Monday in Baghdad, the northern city of Kirkuk, and the towns of Taji and Hussainya just outside the capital. In Kirkuk, police said three car bombs exploded, killing at least 4 people and wounding 15.

Extensive devastation took place at three different locations there. Authorities say the attacks appeared to be coordinated. The blasts all took place within a few hours of each other and targeted mostly security forces and government officials.
