EU officials have said Greece had little hope of meeting the terms of its bailout terms, casting fresh doubt on its future in the euro zone.

Inspectors from the EU, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund have returned to Greece to decide whether to keep it hooked up to a 130-billion-euro lifeline or let it go bust. 3 EU officials said they were likely to conclude that Athens cannot repay what it owes, making a further debt restructuring necessary.

Earlier, the ECB has said it would stop accepting Greek bonds and other collateral used by Greek banks to tap ECB funding, effective starting Wednesday. Analysts said the ECB move was aimed at stepping up pressure on Athens to adhere to the commitments of its EU and IMF bailout.
