The first step of the Great Wildebeest Migration has begun in Tanzania. The Sand River, which divides the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania with the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya, is the first water body the animals must ford before heading on.

The migration is one of the most spectacular wonders in the world. Over two million wildebeest will trek from Tanzania to the greener pastures of the Masai Mara National Reserve. The migration occurs annually from July to October.
