The court martial trial over the death of Chinese-American Private Danny Chen has entered its third day. Fellow soldiers and Chen’s father gave testimony during the proceedings.

Sargent Adam Holcomb of Youngstown, Ohio, is the first of eight soldiers to be tried in the case. He is accused of mistreating and hazing Danny Chen so badly that the soldier was prompted to take his own life.

Holcomb faces a number of charges - the most serious of which is negligent homicide. If convicted across the board, he could face nearly 18 years in prison. The 19 year old Chen of New York was deployed to Afghanistan last summer. Officials say he shot himself in a guard tower on October 3rd.
