China´s Yi Siling wins 1st gold medal in London

China has won its first Gold medal, on the first day of the 30th Olympic Games in London. The victory came in the Women’s 10 meter Air Rifle event. Yi Siling, from Central China’s Hunan province took the gold, while Yu Dan from Sichuan province won bronze in the same event. Both the women are first time Olympians.

Eleven other gold medals are up for grabs on the first day of competition. Group qualifiers for badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, table tennis and handball will also be held.
