Hundreds more of Syrians have fled to neighbouring Jordan as escalating violence in their country threatens to boil over. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees... more than 700 Syrians have been admitted to a camp, near Mafraq city, overnight. Jordanian officials estimate 150-thousand Syrians are seeking refuge in their country.

Andrew Harper, Representative of UN High Commisssion for Refugees, said, "Last night we had the highest number that came in one day to Zaatari. We had over 700 coming from a number of border points across from Syria. We’ve now got a situation where the camp has got some seven-thousand people, so despite the dust, despite the hardships, despite the lack of resources, we’re still seeing hundreds of Syrians coming across every day."
