10 Japanese activists who landed on the Diaoyu Islands on Sunday have come under investigation.

Police in Japan’s Okinawa prefecture have questioned the activists regarding alleged violation of the country’s laws for landing on the islands. However, it may be difficult to file charges against them, considering precedent. Previous landings have resulted in no criminal punishment.

The right-wing groups proposed their moves to the Japanese government on August 3rd, saying they intended to hold a ceremony for people who died there during World War Two. But the visit, the third of its kind this year, was not approved.
