A landslide hit the Yinchanggou scenic area on Saturday. More than 8000 tourists were trapped in the area. Luckily the locals didn’t hesitate to assist in their rescue.

A woman is 8 months pregnant. A few days ago, she and her husband traveled to Yinchanggou to escape the heat. She probably never expected that would result in such a journey, carried down the side of a mountain by strangers. Following her safe arrival, though, she expressed gratitude to her helpers.

Mrs. Zhao said, "I feel good now. First, I must thank these villagers."

This was no simple favor, either. It took hours to help all these stranded people down the mountainside. 48-year-old, Wang Tingji was among those who lent a hand.

Wang Tingji, villager of Jiufeng Village, Sichuan, said, "I searched for tourists in the mountains day and night since the landslide happened on Saturday."

Over the past two days, Wang has assisted more than one hundred trapped tourists to safety. And Mrs Zhao wasn’t the only one carrying a little extra weight, three other pregnant women had to be rescued from the mountain. The local government says they will transfer out all the remaining trapped tourists out as soon as possible.
