Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara has announced he will make a visit to the Diaoyu Islands in October. The Tokyo metropolitan government says it will attempt to investigate the Islands’ environment.

The government earlier called on the country’s central government to give it permission to land on the Diaoyu Islands in August. But Ishihara said that due to the approach of a Typhoon, the landing was postponed until October. He also announced in April that the Tokyo Metropolitan government would buy some of the islets of the Diaoyu Islands from a private owner.
