PLA and Armed Police delegates hold group discussion

Delegates from the People’s Liberation Army and the Armed Police have held discussions on Hu Jintao’s report. They said the 18th Party Congress marks an important milestone for the development of Socialism with Chinese characteristics.

PLA delegates said the military would strictly focus on the development of national defense and military construction. It will keep China’s core security demands as its top priority, and promote military reform with Chinese characteristics.

Delegates also spoke of enhancing independent innovation in military equipment and leading China’s national defense and military into new phase of development. Delegates from the Armed Police said they were inspired by the report’s call for them to modernize more quickly. They said they are dedicated to building a mighty and civilized force and will strive to be loyal guards to the party and the Chinese people.
