Fire at German workshop for disabled kills 14

At least 14 people have been confirmed dead and seven others injured in a fire at a workshop in southwestern Germany. Three people are still reported missing.

Police said the fire broke out on the roof of the workshop in the Black Forest area at around 2PM local time. It triggered an automatic alarm system.The workshop employs some 120 mentally-or physically-handicapped workers in metal and wood processing, as well as electrical assembly.

Some 50 people were reportedly working inside the shop at the time of the accident. Police said the fire was caused by an explosion in a storage room. But a full investigation is still underway.
