Bo's verdict to be announced at Jinan Intermediate People's Court

09-22-2013 10:20 BJT

Jinan Intermediate People's Court is about to deliver its verdict on former Chongqing Party Chief Bo Xilai.

The trial was held over five days in August at the court in Jinan, the capital of east China’s Shandong province. Bo is charged with taking bribes of over 21 million yuan, embezzling 5 million yuan and abuse of power.

At the trial, prosecutors demanded a heavy sentence for Bo. He defended himself. The prosecution and defendant went through thorough cross-examinations and were given full opportunity to express their opinions.

In their summarizing statement, prosecutors said the evidence presented in court fully demonstrated the clear facts and the evidence was sufficient to convict Bo of the crimes.
