11-29-2013 15:23 BJT

As the investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, local officials have said the object that hit the ferry is nowhere to be found, and the local government is taking action to prevent similar accidents from happening again.

"One fire officer said the object involved might have been break into pieces or drifted away. Some experts said, there were many floating rubbishes at the accident waters, they are hard to be discovered in the dark at safety distance. Once discovered, the hight speed ferry could not make a quick respond. The government will implement a series of maritime safety measures, after next year. And additional crew members will be required to act as a look-out on vessels at night," said Li Jiejun at Hong Kong.
