Spring travel rush day 10: peak flow hits transport system

As China’s annual Spring Festival travel rush enters its 10th day, the number of passengers using the country’s transport system has hit its peak.

In many provinces, railroads have been operating at full capacity. Tickets for trips to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou by February 1st have been sold out.

Meanwhile, the first 10 days of the travel season have seen a total of 900 million passengers travelling by ship and bus.

The number of bus trips has reached 867 million, a 4.7% growth compared with that of last year.
