U.S.-S. Korea military drills to start Feb. 24

02-10-2014 10:54 BJT

South Korea and the United States will conduct their annual military drills from February 24th to April 18th.

The Combined Forces Command said in a statement that it has informed the Korean People's Army in the DPRK through their Panmunjom mission. The Command has notified the DPRK about both the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle exercise dates and the non-provocative nature of this training.

The DPRK has called for the cancellation of the drills, saying they are a prelude to war. They also warned that the exercise could jeopardize a reunion event for families separated during the Korean War.
