Studio interview: 2014 CPPCC session hears key proposals

03-12-2014 09:28 BJT Special Report: 2014 NPC & CPPCC Sessions |

Fore more analysis, we’re joined by our Political Commentator, Dr. Victor Gao and Francesco Sisci, a columnist from Italy’s top business daily, SOLE 24 ORE.

Q1. Dr. Gao, the two sessions have drawn plenty of attention this year. What’s your overall impression of this year’s session of the political advisory body, known by its acronym -- the CPPCC ?

Q2. Mr. Sisci, you have lived in China for years - how do you view these annual sessions of the CPPCC and China’s evolving political system? What areas need improving?

Q3. Dr. Gao, how hard it is to reach a consensus at a huge conference like this with more than 2,000 members representing different regions of the country that each have their own needs?

Q4. Mr. Sisci, the representatives put forward thousands of proposals -- my question is, how can the quality of responses they receive be improved.
