The worlds most expensive football player Christiano Ronaldo was once again Real Madrid's hero as he scored his second goal of the game with just one minute remaining to keep the capital club's title hopes alive.

Real are one point behind leaders Barcelona, with three games remaining.

- At the Bernabeu Madrid entertained Osasuna and the nerves got the better of the home side in the opening exchanges. Former real trainee Carlos Aranda took advantage of Raul Albiol's terrible back pass to put the visitors in front inside the opening ten minute.

- That goal sparked Madrid into life and specifically Ronaldo. With seemingly nowhere to go, the winger conjured up a defense bursting run on 25 minutes before hitting home a low shot for the equalizer.

- Madrid's defense has been porous this season and its brittlely was exposed just before half time. Aranda was instrumental in Osasuna's build up play - his lay off was lashed home by Hungarian Krisztian Vadocz to make it 2-1 to the away side

- But real were desperate and were level before the interval. Esterban Granero found Marcelo in the box, his diving header restored parity between the sides

- In a second half devoid of many clear cut chances, Real had to wait until the 89th minute before finding a winner. La Liga's top scorer Gonzalo Higuain tricked his way into the box and sent over a cross to the back post. Ronaldo was on hand to head home from close range for his 22nd of the season. Madrid ran out 3-2 winners
