There was a surprise result in the women's semifinal of the Estoril Open on Friday. China's Peng Shuai faced Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia for a ticket to the final round in Portugal.

Peng Shuai's successfully advanced to WTA tour finals three times, and she got off to a solid start. The opening set went to a tie break, and the Chinese star prevailed.

But luck seemed to walk away from Peng in the second set. She lost six straight games and her younger opponent quickly leveled at one set all.

Peng failed to comeback in the following set. Sevastova finally sealed the win 6-3 and with it the match.
