Chinese Super League champion Beijing Guoan travelled to meet Suwon Bluewings. Beijing had to win to get any chance of advancing to the quarterfinals.

On 28th minute, Suwon's Song Chong-gug provided the corner and Jose Mota arrived in time. Mota headed home the goal to give the home side the lead. 1-0 Bluewings.

Beijing nearly drew level in the 61st minute. Du Wenhui created a chance with a stop and go move. But the former Eintracht Frankfurt player came up short on the shot. He failed to get enough curl on it and the scoring chance went wide.

Suwon wrapped up the win five minutes from time. Yeom Ki-hun was a headache for the Beijing backline all game long and he added more pain with a low ball across the box. Mota met the pass and doubled the Bluewings' lead.

Beijing tried to get a point on the board, but Suwon 'keeper Lee Woon-jae denied Joel Griffiths. Wang Ke's follow up smacked off the bar and Suwon held out for the win. The Bluewings go on to the quarter-finals. Beijing Guoan is out.
