At Badminton's Uber Cup, 11-time winners China took on arch rival Indonesia in the semifinals in Kuala Lumpur. China's women shuttlers hoped to reach the final for the 14th time.

World No. 1 Wang Yihan played Maria Febe Kusumastuti in the first singles match. The Chinese top seed raced out to a double digit lead in the first game and won it 21-7. The Indonesian rallied in the second game and trailed by only two points midway through the game, but Wang kept her cool and began to pull away as her opponent faltered. Wang poured on the points at the end. She took the second game 21-12, giving China a 1-match-to-0 lead.

In the doubles, Ma Jin and Wang Xiaoli faced Greysia Polii and Meiliana Jauhari. Ma and Wang secured the match in style with wins in two straight games and earned China a 2-0 cushion.

A win in the next singles match would clinch things for China. Wang Xin took on Adriyanti Firdasari. The young Chinese shuttler managed to take control late in the first game. Wang then coasted to another victory. The 3-0 clean sweep sent China into the final of Uber Cup for the 14th time.

China will play South Korea in the final. South Korea's Bae Seung Hee dispatched her Japanese counterpart in the singles with a 21-12, 21-16 win. Lee Hyo Jung and Kim Min Jung beat Satoko Suetsuna and Miyuki Maeda to put South Korea on the brink of the final.

Ai Goto battled back for Japan. She won in straight games giving the Japanese side one last chance. But the South Koreans finally came through. Lee Kyung Won and Ha Jung Eun beat Mizuki Fujii and Reika Kakiiwa to set up a date with China in the final.
