This coming weekend, two teams who have won the league and cup doubles domestically go head to head in search of a historical Treble. In front of the world's media, German powerhouse Bayern Munich continued their build up to this weekend's Champions League final. They, of course, take on Inter Milan in Madrid. Let's take a look a closer look at this developing story.

Managers Louis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho know each other inside out having both worked together in Spain.

Mourinho was one of van Gaal's assistant coaches during his first spell in charge of Barcelona in the late 1990s - a period in which the Catalan giants won two Spanish Primera Liga titles.

Few would have expected the apprentice to achieve more than his teacher, but Mourinho did work his way up the coaching ranks.

When asked about his former student - Van Gaal was diplomatic about their time together at the Camp Nou.

Manager Louis Van Gaal said, "I think you have to ask Jose Mourinho that what he learned from me. But normally the head coach is saying what a co-trainer has to do, so he has analyzed all the games for me and he did that very well. "

Like the Bayern coach, Arjen Robben knows Mourinho well after being an integral member of his squad at Chelsea.

Robben, has scored four times in Bayern's current European campaign and sang the praises of both his former and current coach.

Argen Robben said, "For me it's very enjoyable to work for them both. I had a great time with Mourinho at Chelsea, together we won all the prizes in England, so we had a great three years there and.... yes, with van Gaal it's the same."

The two sides go head-to-head at Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Saturday, where they will battle for the honour of being crowned European champions.
