Germany has beaten Argentina by a score of 4-nil in the World Cup quarterfinals. Just three minutes into play, Bastian Schweinsteiger delivered a free kick from the left, and Thomas Mueller glanced the ball home.
That stands as the fastest goal of this year's tournament. In the 68th minute, Miroslav Klose marked his 100th international appearance by putting Germany ahead by a 2-0 margin.
Six minutes later, defender Arne Friedrich scored from close range to net the third goal of the evening. Finally, in the 89th minute, Klose fired away again to seal the final result.
