The normally quite streets of Vettel's home town of Heppenheim were transformed on Sunday when the Formula One driver took a Red Bull show car for a spin.
Most of the town's residents lined the streets to catch a glimpse of Red Bull's Sebastian Vettle. Those hoping for a quiet coffee in the old town got the shock of their lives as Vettel passed by in a Red Bull show car. Vettel revved the engine and took it for a spin through the town's narrow streets, generating the sort of noise that some locals clearly weren't used to. Red Bull will look to put it all behind them and try to close the gap on Formula One pace-setters McLaren when they next race in Germany. The 23-year-old was particularly looking forward to taking advantage of an easing of the local road rules.
Sebastian Vettle said, "A home Grand Prix is always something special. Unfortunately I have to share it with five other Germans but I think there will be plenty of people supporting us and my team so I'm really looking forward to it. Hockenheim is a great circuit. You've got all kinds of corners there - fast corners, slow corners and also the stadium section is unique."
