French national footballers can't wait for their first chance to hit the re-start button. New coach Laurent Blanc will guide his revamped squad in a friendly against Norway. It is the French team's first match since it imploded at the World Cup in June.
The new coach called up 22 players. Thirteen are without a cap for the national side, while some, like Karim Benzema, failed to make the World Cup squad. They will want to use the match to cement a place in Laurent Blanc's plans.
France coach Laurent Blanc said, "What passed in South Africa is going to be present in future games. I think the only thing to do is to forget this story now."
Blanc's first squad seems to be constructed around the 2004 European Under-17 title wining team, a generation featuring names like Benzema, Hatem Ben Arfa and Samir Nasri.
