Portuguese defender Ricardo Carvalho became Jose Mourinho's latest signing at Real Madrid on Thursday. The 32-year old has signed a two year contract for a fee of around 8 million euros and will now be reunited with his old coach at the Bernabeu. The pressure will be on Carvalho to help provide an instant return for Madrid.

Ricardo Carvalho said, "I have heard some criticisms, we have to live with that no matter if they are good or bad. We have to know how to deal with criticisms. If we are doing bad then we are doing bad and we have to assume it, and when we are doing fine it is also important for the players to see that our work is appreciated. But when things are not going well we have to be the first ones to see that maybe we could be doing better."
