Team China arrives in Singapore for Youth Olympic Games

We begin with the arrival of China's delegation for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games. The first half of the team has touched down in Singapore ahead of the start of the games on Saturday.

57 athletes were among the arrivals on Thursday. Team china will participate in 14 events with the average age of the squad being 16 and a half years old. The Youth Olympics, which open on Saturday and run through to the 26th, will feature 3,600 competitors between the ages of 14 and 18. 204 countries will take part, competing in the same 26 sports on the current Summer Olympics program. The second half of the squad are due to land in Singapore before the opening ceremony.
