Chinese competitors are getting ready to meet the challenge in Singapore. Teams began final practices at some local stadiums ahead of their big events.

Organizers set up training for the Chinese national badminton team in Singapore Indoor Stadium at six in the morning. But Huang Yuxiang and Deng Xuan appeared on the court one hour earlier, and quicky dived into their session with coach Chen Yu.

Huang and Deng are the only badminton competitors for China at the Youth Olympics, because men's and women's singles are the only events for badminton at the Games. But the two Chinese players say they only have one goal: to be the champions.

DENG Xuan, Chinese Badminton Player, said, "I took part in several competitions during the previous days, and I treated them as training opportunities. I've been in great form recently, so I feel very confident."

Huang Yuxiang, Chinese Badminton Player, said, "I trained very hard and I'm fully prepared. My biggest goal is to claim the title."

The Chinese fencing team also took its final training before the upcoming Games. Three fencers...Wang Lianlian, Wan Yini and Lin Sheng will represent China. Fencing begins on August 15th with 7 gold medals at stake.
