Tang Yi wins third gold in Singapore

Tang Yi has claimed her third gold medal in Singapore, after she winning the 200-meter freestyle on Wednesday.

Seventeen year old Tang Yi started in lane five, and with two golds already she was the title favorite. Tang led over the first 100 meters, and extended her lead in the second half of the race.

Finally she claimed gold in 1 minute 58.78 seconds to win her third gold of the Youth Games, following her sucesses in the 100-meter freestyle and 4x100m relay.

Another Chinese Liu Lan, also had a golden day as she took part in the 50-meter butterfly, a water churning sprint to the finish.

Lan would touch first, taking the good by the smallest of margins...one hundredth of a second. Liu adds to her medal haul after winning gold in the 4X100m mixed relay, and bronze in the 200 meter butterfly event.

Lin Sheng wins gold in individual epee

China, also took home some fencing gold on the day. Fourth seed Lin Sheng came into the female cadet individual epee gold medal final as the underdog...but would leave champion,

Lin upset the top seed, Alberta Santuccio from Italy 9-8.
