China sweep aside Poland 3-0 in World GP

After sweeping aside Japan 3-1 at 2010 Volleyball World Grand Prix in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, China was looking to continue their good form at the tournament as they took on Poland.

The Chinese side qualified for the final round automatically as hosts, and led the first set 8-6 at the first technical timeout.

They extended their advantage to 16-11 by the second technical timeout.

Veteran Wang Yimei stepped up with key scores, and the home team grabbed a 22-17 lead before taking the set 25-19.

China started strongly in the next two sets. Although their Polish opponents made a good start in the third, China was undeterred.

The Chinese girls came up with a strong finish, closing out the final two sets 25-19, 25-17, winning the match in three straight sets. They will face the US in the next round on Saturday.
