The Volleyball World Grand Prix has wrapped up. Hosts China suffered a big loss to their old rivals Brazil.

The Chinese side took to the court without captain Wei Qiuyue who was sidelined with illness. Her replacement saw teenager Bian Yuqian drafted into the line up. The first set saw the Chinese players make several mistakes. And Brazil took advantage of their powerful serves to take the set 25-12.

Brazil went on to dominate the remainder of the game while their opponents failed to organize any effective offence. The South Americans won the next two sets 25-16, 25-15, and finished in second place behind the United States in the standings. China finished 4th.
