Inter Milan open Serie A play with 0-0 draw at Bologna

European champion Inter Milan has opened its pursuit of a record sixth consecutive Serie A title. Inter, kicking off their campaign on the road against Bologna on Monday.

The European champions have decided to stick with the players who secured an unprecedented Italian treble last term but the lack of a replacement for sold forward Mario Balotelli could haunt Inter with the transfer window closing.

In their Serie A opener, Inter looked a touch off the pace, just as they did in Friday's European Super Cup defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid.

Although Inter was not in top form, Wesley Sneijder threatened with three free kicks.

And, Samuel Eto'o clipped the bar off substitute Coutinho's cross in an improved second half but Inter fans may be worried by the slow start.
