MLB: Tampa Bay defeats Toronto 6-2

The Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees continue to go back and forth atop the American League East. The Yankees, winning on Monday 11-5 over Oakland to move a half game ahead of the Rays. But, the Rays, with a chance to move back level later in the day as they took on the Toronto Blue Jays.

-Carl Crawford's shot to deep center field...gets over the head of DeWayne Wise - BJ Upton comes in to score to make it 1-0 Tampa Bay

After a single by Evan Longoria there were runners on the corners for Carlos Pena - and he knocked a fly ball to left.
Travis Snider made a diving catch to get the out but Crawford tagged up from third and scored to make it 2-0.

- Carlos Pena...lights up Jays starter Brett Cecil.
Pena's high drive to left had just enough.
- It landed in the first row of seats for a three-run home runs.
That made it 5-1 for the Rays and they held on win 6-2 to keep pace with the Yankees atop the AL East.
