China volleyball coach resigns over health fears

After guiding the national women's team to a fourth place at the World Volleyball Grand Prix finals, head coach Wang Baoquan has been forced to resign from his post due to health concerns.

Wang presented his letter of resignation to Chinese Sports authorities, which was accepted. Wang revealed in his letter he couldn't continue his current work and felt under huge pressure both physically and mentally.

Wang took up his position in March of this year. He led China to a championship and runner-up showing in the Volleyball Classic series which saw his side triumph at the Swiss Volleyball Classic.

Under Wang's stewardship China also had one victory and two second place finishes in the Grand Prix series. And a fourth place in the GP finals was his last achievement for the Chinese team. Wang's achievements are considered the best in recent times for the country.

Wang revealed in his letter he couldn't continue his current work and felt under
huge pressure both physically and mentally.
