England thump Bulgaria 4-0

England faced Bulgaria first half Wayne Rooney sent the ball to Ashley Cole, and finally Jermain Defoe made the scoring play.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker made no mistake. England led Bulgaria 1-0 after only 3 mintues of play at Wembley Stadium.

The Bulgarians showed signs of coming back in the second half, but England had the answer. Rooney took the ball on the break. He picked out Defoe, and England swept to a 2-0 lead.

83rd minute and England confirmed its domination with another goal. Defoe and Rooney worked their magic again. This time, they picked out young Adam Johnson. The winger drilled in a low shot to make it 3-0.

Rooney tossed aside criticism of his World Cup performance. He had a hand in every goal, and he found Defoe with a perfect pass in the 86th minute. He turned on the speed and scored, but injured himself in the process. England wins a 4-0 final.
