World Basketball Championship: Turkey thump France 95-77, into semi-finals

Hosts Turkey thumps France and Slovenia power past Australia to set up quarter final meeting at world basketball championships.

-Phoenix Suns forward Hidayet Turkoglu nailed a three, giving Turkey a narrow lead late in the opening quarter, but they soon pulled away.

-Midway through second, Florent Pietrus hit a jumper as France trimmed deficit within single digit

-Turkoglu laid in a reverse basket as the Turks regained double digit lead

-midway through third Turkoglu buried a three and Turkey continued to dominate and they would hold onto a 49-28 advantage.

-France then continued to fumble, committing uncharacteristic errors. This breakaway lay-up by Omer Onan saw the hosts continu their domination

-the game duely ended as an contest late in the third quarter. This three from the top of the Arc put Turkey ahead 67-41
