England is facing its usual drama before the team's Euro 2012 qualifying match against Switzerland in Basel. Manager Fabio Capello confirmed on Monday that Wayne Rooney will start Tuesday's game.

England put some of its recent World Cup disappointment behind it with a winning start to its 2012 European Championship qualifying campaign last Friday. The squad beat Bulgaria 4-0 behind a Jermain Defoe hat-trick. Wayne Rooney may be suffering an international goal drought, but he had a hand in all four goals against Bulgaria and is still key to England's hope for success. Manger Fabio Capello is confident his star striker will be able to cope with the pressure and says Rooney will start against Switzerland.

Fabio Capello, England Manager said, "Yes, he will play. He will play and I spoke with him and I monitored him during two days after the (international friendly) game against Hungary and he was really, really good on the pitch, and he will also be in (a) good situation tomorrow because.... I hope the performance of Rooney tomorrow will be the same as I saw in Wembley (against Bulgaria)."
