La Liga: Malaga beat Zaragoza in eight-goal thriller

Malaga, taking on Real Zaragoza in a game that saw an incredible barrage of goals from Malaga in the opening half.

Just one minute into the game, Malaga open the scoring.

Off the cross, Fernando Fernandez is there, and he is able to beat the keeper to put the Andalusian side up 1-0 early.

6 minutes later, Malaga again...Juanmi beats the defender to the ball, and then finishes to make it 2-0.

20 minutes later, Malaga was celebrating again.

Off the free kick, Fernandez rises to nod it home, his second of the game...making it 3-0.

One minute later, Juanmi would pick up his second...he would have an easy tap in and makes no mistake.

Malaga, up 4-0.

Final Score: Malaga 5-3

And they would keep pressing, in the 34th minute,

Former Arsenal player Owusu Abeyie with nothing but space and and the keeper in front of him, finishes off the run to make it 5-0.

But the hosts did not give up in the second half and made it somewhat interesting...Edmilson, Marco Perez and Ander Herrera contributed three goals for Zaragoza.

Final Score: Malaga 5-3

Other results from Sunday...Villarreal beat Espanyol 4-0, Sevilla drew with Deportivo La Coruna 0-0, Sporting Gijon beat Mallorca 2-0, and Getafe beat Levante 4-1.

And we take a look at the standings now...Atletico Madrid and Valencia shares the top spot with 6 points, Sevilla and Real Madrid shares third place with 4 points, Villarreal, Getafe, Barcelona, Hercules, Real Sociedad and Malaga all shared 5th place with 3 points.
